How NITE started

NITE originally started as a class project to demonstrate social action and grassroots activism
in Jeanine Minge's Women and Communication class at the University of South Florida.
Through the passion and dedication of a few classmates, the NITE organization was formed.

The Blue Light Walk was NITE's first official event to raise awareness of the lack of blue light emergency phones on campus.
NITE decided to advocate for student and campus safety by asking administration to make safety a No. 1 concern on our campus.

NITE decided to adopt Take Back the Night, a national event to raise awareness
of rape and domestic violence and to give a voice to survivors.
NITE always looks for ways to improve the campus and surrounding community
and raise awareness of issues that deserve needed attention.
